Who can become a Calgary Living Wage Leader?
Calgary employers who pay their employees and contract service staff (contracted for 14 hours or more per week) a Living Wage of $12.25 per hour ($13.50 without benefits), or greater.
What is the history of the Calgary Living Wage Leader program?
The program was launched by Vibrant in February 2009 with the Calgary Chamber of Commerce announced as the first Calgary Living Wage Leader. The program was inspired by the London Living Wage Award (U.K.), whose recipients include Price Waterhouse Coopers, HSBC, Barclays Bank and London School of Economics.
Living Wage Leaders
Employers in Calgary who have formally pledged to pay a Living Wage. This currently represents over 500 jobs in the city, guaranteed to be paid a Living Wage.
